This combined AIGA and IDSA event was a huge success, with graphic and industrial designers packing in to hear these innovators speak.

This invitation (and related e-blast) was concepted, designed, approved, printed and mailed in five working days.
Working directly with the VP of marketing allowed a clear communication of objectives. We were able to quickly hone in on the message and theme, setting the tone of this last-minute (and well-attended) special event.

Any designer will tell you how difficult it is to cull through all the past projects and pick the best.

When pitching myself to a potential client, I craft my presentation to not only show my familiarity with that field (e.g. b2b, consumer goods, non-profits, etc.) but also to get the clients excited about their project. They see the value good design has had for other organizations, and realize they can have the same.

So here I am. Trying to craft a presentation to Faceless Person from Some Company Inc. Different rules apply for this presentation. And I am soooo behind putting it together.

So I’ve decided on a stepped approach to get the ball rolling. Over the next few months I hope to post a new project every few days until I have enough content prepared to launch a less austere web site.

See Paul? Something!

As a designer, my toughest client is ME. I enjoy getting into the mind of a marketing manager, feeling the pulse of a brand, creating collateral that is the face and personality of a company. But doing it for myself?

Over the years (yes, years!) it has largely gone unchallenged that “my clients’ work keeps me too busy to work on my own stuff.” But after recently moving in with my fiancé (a rock star industrial designer) I find myself frequently on the receiving end of “JEEEEEzus Winsor! Just put something up!”

For my dear Paul… something.
